We are the local chapter of the national SAMPE technical society promoting further technical interchange and development in the research, processing and application of all advanced materials.
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, SAMPE®, an international professional member society, provides information on new materials and processing technologies through chapter technical presentations, two journal publications, symposia and commercial expositions in which professionals can exchange ideas and air their views. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, designers and academicians.
Material and Process engineering is the technology by which materials are developed or selected and manufacturing processes chosen which will convert those materials into products which meet the design, performance, producability, quality, and cost effective criteria required.
CHAPTER MEETING:
Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of the month during the months of January, February, March, April, May, September & October, at 6:00pm
Each meeting includes a technical speaker presenting a topic related to some aspect of materials & processing, with an occasional diversion to a more entertaining topic. Before and after the technical presentation, there is always ample opportunity to network with other technical professionals as well as enjoy a dinner. During the month of December we hold our annual Christmas party, complete with an excellent dinner, a live band, dancing and prizes. Please consider joining us for a chance to learn about recent technical developments in the materials field, network with friends, and have a little fun!
